{"id":893,"date":"2013-05-08T18:50:40","date_gmt":"2013-05-08T16:50:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/joncu.roguenet.org\/swissblog\/?p=893"},"modified":"2021-09-21T22:50:56","modified_gmt":"2021-09-21T22:50:56","slug":"hard-to-leave-montpellier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jmcw.blog\/swissblog\/2013\/05\/08\/hard-to-leave-montpellier\/","title":{"rendered":"Hard to leave Montpellier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, we mean that literally. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 We began the day with a flat tire, before we even left the BnB.<br \/>\n\u2022 Then we had coffee and pastries in the town square.<br \/>\n\u2022 Next we were distracted by a Farmer&#8217;s Market where we got some fruits and nuts for the road.<br \/>\n\u2022 We finally arrived at the starting point of our 2500km of GPS tracks, and stopped for a photo op,<br \/>\n\u2022 And asked a woman if she would take our picture.  She turned out to be a Jehovah&#8217;s Witness!<br \/>\n\u2022 After the propaganda, we headed down our route to find that it had been blocked by a large street fair for the holidays.<br \/>\n\u2022 That was followed by a construction detour that left us heading in the wrong direction. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jmcw.blog\/swissblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/09\/20130510-184413.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jmcw.blog\/swissblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/09\/20130510-184413.jpg\" alt=\"20130510-184413.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nWe finally worked our way back to the GPS track, and were able to say farewell to Montpellier, about 2 hours later. <\/p>\n<p>After lunch in Sete, at a sidewalk cafe along it&#8217;s canal, we arrived at the official start of the Canal du Midi. The route begins at the lighthouse where the ships leave the Mediterranean.
