{"id":457,"date":"2012-12-02T16:40:07","date_gmt":"2012-12-02T15:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/joncu.roguenet.org\/swissblog\/?p=457"},"modified":"2021-09-21T23:45:12","modified_gmt":"2021-09-21T23:45:12","slug":"christmas-begins-bern","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jmcw.blog\/swissblog\/2012\/12\/02\/christmas-begins-bern\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas begins &#8211; Bern"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Weihnachtsmarkt, or Christmas Market, began in Bern on Saturday 12\/1.\u00a0 Jon and I walked into Bern, taking side streets just to see something different.\u00a0\u00a0 We spent most of the day strolling through the Christmas Market in Romerplatz, the downtown stores, and the handcraft market by the cathedral.\u00a0\u00a0 Booths in the Romerplatz were sturdily built with wood platforms, walls and roofs, rather permanent looking though they\u2019ll only be there 3 weeks.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_875\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jmcw.blog\/swissblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2012\/12\/DSCF3222.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-875\" class=\"size-full wp-image-875\" title=\"Weihnachtsmarket tavern\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jmcw.blog\/swissblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2012\/12\/DSCF3222.jpg\" alt=\"Weihnachtsmarket tavern\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-875\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Overlooking the Christmas Market from the second story of a temporary tavern.
