We\u2019ve sent emails back and forth about what to bring us (Jon\u2019s choral clothes) and what they want to do while here (cheese, chocolate, Alps).\u00a0 We finally took the last of the suitcases and bike boxes to the basement storage unit. And Jon, through much struggle, installed the dining room chandelier!<\/p>\n<p>I had a full day at last:\u00a0 filled with cleaning everything in the house, setting up beds, and grocery shopping (two visits, couldn\u2019t carry it all in one).\u00a0 It felt good to have a clear and physical <em>function.<\/em>\u00a0 Even though my \u2018job\u2019 as \u2018vacation planner\u2018 is theoretically always there to be done, it\u2019s elusive and frustrating with many dead-ends and lots of sitting.\u00a0 So, we\u2019re ready.<\/p>\n<p>Well, we\u2019re ready for the coming two weekends with our guests.\u00a0 Then there\u2019s all the weeks and weekends beyond that.\u00a0 In the last two days we\u2019ve finalized travel plans for our Paris trip (7\/28-8\/1) and gone through 14 permutations of possibilities for a trip to Scandinavia (potentially August or September).\u00a0 Somehow the planning has not, as I had hoped, become easier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we\u2019re preparing for guests.\u00a0 We borrowed an air mattress.\u00a0 Which then necessitated borrowing a transformer to pump it.
