Well, yes, we did get back on the bike today, but only for 21km.  A bit of tooling about seeing the town, visits to two subterranean museums (mushrooms and architectural miniatures), wine-tasting and a picnic supper.  That was it for today, folks.  After our next leg along the Loire to Angers, we’ll be heading north through the Normandy countryside, once again putting lots of kilometers per day on the bike and, we hope, managing to find food and lodging on the way.  So these two days at Saumur have been for storing up our energy (have I mentioned the pastries? the ice cream? the sauces? the wines?).
